The short version

  • Everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser. It is never sent to us or stored anywhere.
  • We have no user accounts and no contact forms that store data.
  • The site is supported by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve and measure ads. You can control that below.

Information we collect

Calculator inputs. Salaries, home prices, loan balances, and every other value you enter are processed entirely by JavaScript running on your device. No input is transmitted to our servers or to any third party by us. If you use "Copy link to this scenario," the values are placed in the link you copy; anyone you send it to can see them.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services CloudFront) records standard access logs, which include IP address, requested URL, browser type, and timestamp. We use these only for security and aggregate traffic statistics and do not attempt to identify individuals.

Contact. If you email us, we keep the message to respond to it and to track corrections. We do not add you to any list.

Advertising and cookies

We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland see a consent message before any advertising cookies are set and can change their choice at any time.
  • California residents: we enable Google's restricted data processing for California traffic, and you may exercise your rights under the CCPA/CPRA through the links above. We do not sell personal information ourselves; we have none to sell.

We do not run analytics scripts other than the aggregate reporting provided by AdSense and by Google Search Console (which uses search data, not cookies on this site).

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Source links point to government agencies and research organizations. Their privacy practices are their own.
